Pots or Planter boxes
Pots or Planter boxes.
Should I use the smaller self watering pots or larger planter box.
If you are growing herbs ie you're creating a small space garden for food I would suggest you go for pots, the main reason being that having one plant per pot allows you to have a wider range of plants for the same area and it is much easier to re-pot and maintain. This is particularly important with plants that can take over like mint which grows prolifically, and you don't really need that much as it has a strong taste, like many herbs. On the down side you will pay extra for brackets that allow for pots as well as planter boxes, but in the long run I would suggest it is worth it.
If you are going for a sea of colour then the planter box is probably a preferred choice. If you are using our automatic watering system, because the  sensor/valve sits in the water reservoir, it is much easier to  maintain with our self watering flowerpots as the base is easily removed, however you need more valves ie one planter box is equivalent in area to three 170mm, round pots.
