Organic Linseed Gold col, also known as Flaxseed 1kg of (Aust) The richest source of Omega 3 essential fatty acids. It contains almost twice as much as is contained in fish oil. Linseed/flaxseed oil differs from most vegetables oils in that it provides linoleic acid and alpha linolenic acid, both of which are needed by the body and must be obtained through the diet. The basis of Dr. Budwig’s diet or protocol is the ingestion of a special oil-protein mixture in the form of organic cold-pressed flaxseed oil plus cottage cheese to balance an oversupply of omega 6 fatty acids and hydrogenated fats in the Western diet and to provide an immediately available abundant supply of essential omega 3 acids. Of all plant oils, flax oil is the richest source of these omega 3 acids. (for more info. on Dr Budwig see http://www.healingcancernaturally.com/budwig_protocol.html)
The bottom picture shows this freshly ground Linseed being added to self made muesli, where it is mixed in and soaked overnight, making the whole combination even more bio-available for a very quick most nutritious breakfast. (for more info. see Breakfast Suggestions).
So the bottom line here is that, as always, to get the most benefits from this wonderful plant, the more active it is ie alive, than the more easily absorbable are its nutrients. So eating the sprouts(see Micro-Greens Sprout Kit) is obviously the most absorbable, however, to make the oil more absorbable then see Omega 3 Magic, if you are going to add ground linseed meal, like in the bottom picture to muesli, then soak it overnight with a spoonful of yoghurt, this begins the digestive process, again making it more bio-available, not to mention tasting better).
