The Wetter Water Story from Wellness Research
Magnetite
During our research we found that several of the world’s great springs have Magnetite, an iron-rich volcanic mineral in the surrounding geology.
The presence of Magnetite convinced us that the magnetic field generated by this minerals high iron content has an important role to play in creating a healthier water.
The H20 molecules that make water what it is are switching bonds with each other every 1/10 millionth of a second. As water passes over a magnetic field these hydrogen bonds are re-arranged in such a manner that makes them behave differently from non-magnetised water.
The network of H20 molecules becomes more ordered and structured. This effectively makes the water 'wetter' and more hydrating. And, drinking a 'wetter water' can have important positive effects on health.
However, the fields of magnetite found at these natural springs were often hundreds of feet deep and miles wide. There was no way we could put enough magnetite into a water filter in order to achieve the effect we were looking for.

During research we discovered that by placing specially designed magnets within the bed of magnetite created the precise magnetic field we were looking for.

Stage 1 - Sediment Filtration
A 5 to 1µ gradient sediment filter is the first line of filtration protection. This inexpensive sacrificial filter removes dirt, rust, sediment, asbestos fibres and other gross contaminants.

Stage 5 - Coconut Carbon
The final cartridge is an aesthetic filter designed to polish water after the enhancement stage. This carbon cartridge is composed of pure organic coconut carbon in a fine granular powder. As a result it is free from glues, binders and adhesives. This cartridge removes any remaining chlorine or chemicals that may have escaped the primary carbon stage and polishes the water in preparation for drinking.

The Stage 3 - Sub-Micron Ultra-Filtration 0.2µ can be upgraded to a NanoCeram filter, offering 0.02µ microns, which gives you an even finer level of filtration e.g. taking Chlorine and Chloramine from 99.9% removal with the standard cartridge to 99.99%. We suggest rather than adding to the initial expense see how you go with the standard Stage 3 cartridge, at the end of 12 months you will need to replace the filter cartridges at approximately $170 at this time you can choose also to upgrade the Stage 3 filter cartridge if you so desire.
Stage 5 - 100% carbon filter can be upgraded to an Alkalising cartridge, with a 50/50 stage comprising both carbon and alkaline minerals. Ceramic minerals are mixed in with the carbon and when in contact with water these ceramics release balanced levels of acid buffering calcium and magnesium into the water. This extra mineral boost raises water pH naturally and is the perfect solution for people seeking a more alkaline water. The average pH boost of this cartridge is between 1 to 2 yielding a pH on normal municipal water of pH 8 to 9.
Note:- there is much debate about the benefits of drinking alkaline water, in our opinion pH balanced water is what your body expects, you would only use this Alkaline boosting cartridge if your water supply was acidic which is very rarely the case.
If you want to create a more alkaline environment in your body the best way to do it is by consuming food that interacts with your body and has an alkalising forming effect. For instance lemon juice, which I have with warm water every morning, is very acidic, and yet it has an alkalising effect when it is absorbed by the body. So in the long run, in our opinion, drinking alkaline water, will do more to disturb the digestive balance in the body, then increasing its overall alkalinity.
Undersink Adaptor Kits
The wellness filters come standard with an adapter kit that fits on the end of most standard kitchen taps, which have either an external or internal thread. If you wish to use your filter as an underwater unit then we suggest you purchase one of the Under Sink Adapter kits directly from Wellness. If you are replacing an existing filter then the extra hoses and connections may fit, so you are welcome to try, or you can buy an adapter kit minus the Tap.
Fluoride - the wellness water filter reduces the amount of fluoride by a small amount, percentages cannot be given because it varies depending on the conditions of the water supply. The two methods currently being used to remove or further reduce the amount of fluoride are to filter it through crushed animal bones, we would not recommend this method for obvious reasons, and the other is using complex and expensive membrane technologies (wellness will be offering a unit like this in the future but it will not be cheap) or the cheaper alternative using reverse osmosis, unfortunately reverse osmosis removes everything, so you then need to put it through complex and expensive stages to bring the water back to life i.e. you have to add minerals, drinking water devoid of minerals will tend to leach the body of minerals. There are many ways you can reduce the amount of fluoride e.g. use toothpaste which does not have fluoride, and check the labels on your food many bottled waters have fluoride added to it, bread etc.
If you see a filter that says it reduces the fluoride by large amounts, you need to find out how they do it, and how long it lasts, e.g. the crushed bone technique quickly loses its effect and must be replaced frequently. You also need to ask them to produce independently verified results.
