1x1.5ltr Colander, the drainage chamber of one colander can be placed on top of the other set, thus giving the benefits of an aerated lid ie if you are worried about creepy crawlies wandering through your sprouts while you are not there, or more simply purchase one of our fine mesh bags which can be used for this function as well as the final drying stage before storage. Or purchase one of our clear covers, they also allow for stacking. (see below).
For best aeration and drainage just tilt be grill section holding the sprouts at an angle as per the picture, this will also hold the clear Perspex cover perfectly in place.
The beauty of using these colanders, apart from their many other uses when not sprouting, is that it is very easy to separate the husks from the seed.
We recommend the addition of a few drops of seaweed to the soak solution, improves germination & trace elements from the seaweed are absorbed by the sprouts. For a discussion on the different types of sprouters available see the pdf file below.
