Add a window box just below your wood or brick window ledge, just choose your type of window ledge, the best place is just below the level of the ledge so you can see more of the plants and less of the box. Then choose your planter box or pots(pots need the shelf option & in this situation we recommend the pot restraining arm).
Once you have chosen the type of bracket that fits your railing you need to choose the correct stand-off distance and planter box restraining mechanism.
Planter box restraining mechanism this is how the planter box is held in place on the brackets. There are 2 choices
1. Under the lip restraining mechanism - this is the most secure connection system but it only really works well with one type planter box which is the Decor 60 cm long self-watering planter box which you can purchase from us or you can get them from Bunnings.
2. Adjustable base box restraint - this mechanism attaches to the base of the bracket and you can move it in an out so that it presses firmly against the planter box, not as secure for tall plants in windy situations, although still better than most other bracket systems, but it will allow you to use a wide range of planter boxes even ones that are taller than the bracket i.e. higher than 200 mm.
3. None required if using the shelf.
Stand-off distance, this is basically the distance between the vertical of the bracket and the wall, if it is flush to the wall, then the stand-off distance is 0 to 30 mm, however if you have an extended windowsill this could be a lot longer, this is the length of the bolt which is used to adjust the level of the planter box it comes with a protective cap.
