3 Kits in 1, saving on materials common to all.
Vertical Sprouting:-
We supply two types of Peas, the one that you see in supermarket packages, labelled as a Snow pea with just a couple of small leaves and a long stem, this is actually a Field pea, but labelled as Snow pea for obvious marketing reasons. The advantage of the Field pea is that it is cheaper than the Snow pea and is harvested after 1 week. The other pea is a dwarf variety of Snow pea that is best left for 2.5 weeks, the advantage of this variety is that it will produce a large group(4 sets) of deep green leaves, this is basically three to four times as much as the Field pea, however it does take longer and costs more. In this kit we include 450g of each so you can make your own decision as to which one is best for you, or as I do, grow both.
This abundance of nutritious leaves that melt in your mouth gives you a delicious nutritious base for any salad(also great to add to a stir-fry).
The Seaweed that we use (NASAA Lic. No. 3612M) is extracted at lower temperatures than other products, it also contains humic acid which is a mined substance, that is somewhere between peat and brown coal, containing a rich abundance of prehistoric minerals and trace elements, a BFA approved product. So not only are you getting all the nutrients that the wheat seed has been able to accumulate during its growth cycle, you are also getting a rich spread of micronutrients and trace elements from the sea and from prehistoric pristine vegetation.
We also include Dolomite(finely crushed limestone a mix of calcium and magnesium) placing 1/3 of a teaspoon in the reservoir of your self watering pots, will ensure that your sprouts have a high level of Calcium and Magnesium as well as keeping the whole environment alkaline which greatly reduces the development of mould especially around the root base.
We also include Azomite a mineral and trace element supplement for plants and animals. It is not a typical rock dust. It is a very complicated product in the sense that it contains 67 + chemical elements, most in an oxide form along with trace and rare earth minerals. The product is a natural volcanic ash, albeit 30 million years old, it has been subjected to rigorous testing and has been approved for use in large-scale Organic Plant and Livestock production in the US. Adding this to our fertilizer soup, means that if the seeds didn't contain it, & the Seaweed/Humate didn't, then we certainly have it covered now.
We also include Magnesium Chloride The importance of this element in the health of the body cannot be overstated. The highest quality Magnesium available, this ancient mineral is extracted from the lower layers of the Zechstein prehistoric sea(250 million years old), we mix this in with the liquid seaweed. It can also be used as a salt substitute i.e. mix with water & spray on your food or trans-dermal i.e. rub on your skin or use in a foot bath. Magnesium is the central atom in the Chlorophyll molecule, which has almost the same structure as Haemoglobin i.e. the red blood cell, another reason why greens are a must.
We supply 8ltrs of premium grade fine washed loose coconut fibre, this mix is designed for growing seedlings which means it is fine textured without any lumps which makes it very easy to spread.
To do this you will require a sunny window, or use one of our low power light growing kits, and 10-15 minutes once a week for replanting, assuming you replant 2 pots once per week.
With this kit you get 0.45kg of Snow Pea seeds, 0.45kg of Field Pea seeds, 8ltrs CocoFibre, 4 (blue, yellow, white or black) shallow self watering round pots(165 diam x 90h) with detachable saucers, 1ltr of liquid seaweed concentrate, a 1ltr plastic sauce bottle(to make it easy to pour your liquid seaweed), 450g of Dolomite, 450g Azomite, 140gmMgCh, 2 sticky insect traps and detailed instructions and tips.
If you are going to grow these inside next to a sunny window then have a look at the stainless steel stand, see below, which has been specially designed with staggered shelf heights to make the most use of this valuable space. If you are a growing outside you will still get great results it's just that in the cooler months it will take a lot longer.
If you do not have a sunny spot inside or out then the lighting kits, again see below, will give you perfect results all year round.
Loose Sprouting:-
The stages of sprouting:- basically there are four, 1:- Soaking 2:- Germinating 3:- Greening & de-husking and 4:- Storage. Through the first two stages seeds like to be kept in the dark ie as if they were underground, many seeds are only sprouted to this stage e.g. lentils, mung beans so for these types of sprouts the container needs to not let the light in. Some sprouts like alfalfa you want the final couple of days exposed to light so the tips become green. We have found that a fine grilled colander like the one that we are selling is the only one that performs all of these tasks’s exceptionally well. See the PDF file below for a brief discussion of some of the different types of sprouters available on the market today and how we feel they compare to the humble colander.
The kit is made up of :-
2 Sprouting Bowls These are quality 1.5ltr made in Japan colanders, they can be used with seed sizes ranging down to that of Alfalfa. The beauty of using these colanders, apart from their many other uses when not sprouting, is that it is very easy to separate the husks from the seed, and using the sprout cover, you can stack one on top of the other saving valuable space.
2x2ltr plastic storage containers with detachable labels with 4 cotton towels, the major problem with sprouting up until now has been that they do not keep ie to have sprouts on hand you have to keep sprouting every day which can become a bit of a grind. Using our simple method you can now store your sprouts using the containers & cloth inserts supplied for up to 2 weeks, meaning less time sprouting. The cotton towels also provide a breathable cover. We supply 4 cotton towels as it is a good idea to start sprouting before your last lot of sprouts are finished. The Detachable Labels allow you to write the date of storage using a pencil, which can be easily rubbed out and rewritten. The Cotton Inserts are the key to storage as they absorb excess moisture and condensation which is the prime cause of sprouts going off. When kept in the fridge, the sprouts will continue to grow at a very slow rate, all explained in the step-by-step instructions.
Seeds - 150gms of Organic Fenugreek & Non Org. Alfalfa (16wks ie 8 sproutings) & 450gms of Org. Green Lentils & 450gms of Org. French Lentils.
Pic 2nd from the bottom on the left is a mix of Alfalfa and Fenugreek, the Fenugreek adds a slight tang to the sweet Alfalfa taste, it also spreads the Alfalfa sprouts out so they don't clump so tightly together, again these can be stored for up to 2 weeks. Probably the best sprout ie the cheapest, tastiest, easiest, quickest and nutritious, is the humble green lentil(bottom right), we will supply organic when we can get them.
In the picture at the bottom left you can see the simple process of getting rid of the husks, in most situations, if you are storing your sprouts in a cool part of the house, because with this technique you are soaking them for 10 minutes with the addition of the liquid seaweed, this only needs to be done once a day until the cover is taken off for the greening process ie the last couple of days when you have to gently rinse and soak twice a day, again a great timesaver.
The picture on the right shows how easy it is to put together a nutritious sandwich when you have the ingredients stored fresh and ready to go, makes packing that lunch ever so much easier.

Micro-Greens Sprouting:-
This kit contains all you need to successfully grow tiny seeds such as Mustard, Cress, Broccoli, Linseed, Radish etc where the sprouts are best grown vertically ie in a medium but where the seeds are just placed on the surface ie not covered, therefore only needing a very shallow growing medium.
In this kit you get:-
150g of (Mustard + Cress + Radish + Organic Broccoli) seeds. - if we are out of stock of one of the seeds we will replace with one of the others.
4 Spice Jars, these containers make it very easy for you to sprinkle the seeds evenly across the growing medium.
A 750ml Spray Bottle, this is supplied to make it easy for you to spray the top of the seeds before covering them up for their germination phase.
4 Rectangular Trays OR 4 Round Trays + 2 germination lids, these are the trays that you use to grow the sprouts in, they are 150 mm wide by 470 mm long, as can be seen by the pictures they fit perfectly into our various plant stands. We give you four of these so you can use one or two at any time as a cover, this is required to keep the seeds moist during the germination phase, one option would be to do one tray every week, so at any one time you have three trays growing one of which is in the germination phase with one tray being used as a cover. See related items below if you would like more trays. Or you can choose to have 4 black round trays(200mm diam.) & 2 clear germination covers. So which one to choose, they are both pretty much the same, the rectangular trays will give you slightly more quantity, and being narrower width will sit more easily on a windowsill. The round trays with their clear cover are slightly more elegant and fit our vertical stand, see below.
Make your choice from the selection options below. See related items below if you would like more trays.
